The Magical World of Witchcraft & Wizardry is an enchanting family festival hosted by the Coldwater Village BIA that transforms the charming main street of Coldwater, Ontario into a magical wonderland straight from your favorite fantasy novels. Taking place on Saturday, August 16th, 2025 from 10am-4pm, this spellbinding event invites visitors to “step into the pages of your favorite fantasy novels for the day” and experience the magic of this historic village.
The festival features live music by the Bombshell Band, a vendor market filled with magical wares, and a costume contest at 2pm where participants can show off their best wizarding attire. Families can enjoy free crafts including wand-making activities, while children get “sorted into Canada’s new Wizarding School” by visiting the Sorting Hat to confirm their Wizarding house. The event also includes character actors, stilt-walker balloons, and partnerships with Scales Nature Park offering raptor rescues, scavenger hunts, games, prizes, and Lions BBQ.
This beloved annual tradition has been “as popular as always and attended by many happy children of all ages” in previous years, creating a magical atmosphere that brings the community together for a day of fantasy, fun, and family entertainment in the heart of Simcoe County.
